The Bake-Off & A Teensie Bit of Drama

Mom and I had our first annual bake-off this past weekend. With our Christmas aprons on, Christmas music playing, and all kinds of amazing smells filling our noses we baked and baked and baked to our hearts (and stomachs) content.

It was a really special time.

There was a lot more tasting than helping going on from six little additional hands, with constant reminders about ruined appetites and potential tummy aches, their little fingers still couldn't resist the goodness of all that is Christmas baking.

We built this castle out of sugar cubes, frosting, and gumdrops. After attempting to move it to a different table nearly the entire thing collapsed and I had to rebuild it a second time. We couldn't let all our hard work go to waste!

We took a few little breaks for caroling around the piano and snuggling with Grandpas.

And on a completely unrelated note...can I just take a moment to share my darling little Adelyn, who upon being told no to tugging on the Christmas tree ornaments gave me this as her response ...

  3. The "first annual" - I love it! What a special Christmas tradition to have in your family. And who cares about ruined appetites and tummy aches, anyway? It's much more fun to taste and nibble and sample and get all those little hands involved! :)
